Re: Our response to the SARS outbreak (04/04/03)
-
All
current
Taylors and Embassy students (many of the latter are Taylors
April Intake students) have been told that THEY MAY NOT LEAVE
AUSTRALIA DURING THE FORTHCOMING TERM BREAK.
-
We will be checking the passports of students at the
commencement of next term and we will take very serious action
with any student who breaks this rule.
-
We are monitoring very closely and on a daily basis the
information bulletins available at www.health.gov.au.
We have encouraged our staff and students who have any
concerns to ring the Department of Health Hotline on 1800 004
599. Further
information is also available at www.dfat.gov.au.
-
Any student returning to Taylors/Embassy and all direct entry
April Intake students in the weeks ahead will be required to
go to a doctor for a health check and to bring us a medical
certificate indicating they do not have any symptoms of SARS.
Our staff will be keeping a close eye on all students
and any child who has flu/cold symptoms will be required to go
to a doctor immediately and be checked for infection.
-
Written communication has been provided for parents of current
students, SMUFY students (returning next week), doctors (to
whom students go for SARS health checks) and homestays.
